Frequently Asked Questions

What is FlexBall™ Technology?
Handles featuring FlexBall Technology allow the blades to respond to the contours of your face. This means a close shave with fewer missed hairs (vs. Fusion5 in a single stroke over the contours).

What makes Gillette® Fusion5® ProGlide® better than Gillette Fusion5?
The handle features FlexBall Technology that responds to contours for a great shave, even over the trickiest areas.

How long will the Gillette Fusion5 ProGlide razor blade refill last?
How long a razor blade refill lasts is dependent on many variables such as beard toughness and thickness, beard preparation, shaving habits, and skin sensitivity. The Gillette Fusion5 ProGlide’s reformulated Indicator® Lubricating Strip (vs. Fusion5) will provide you with a visual cue—it fades to white—when optimal shave conditions have been reduced. When this happens, you might want to consider changing your razor blades to get an optimal shave.

What are thinner, finer blades, and how will they improve my shave?
Gillette Fusion5 ProGlide men’s razors have been engineered with Gillette’s thinnest, finest blades to glide through hair with less tug and pull*.

How was the Precision Trimmer improved over the Fusion5?
The blade was enhanced and anti-clogging rinse slots were added.

What is the Streamlined Comfort Guard, and what are its benefits?
Gillette Fusion5 ProGlide features a Streamlined Comfort Guard. The soft, flexible material surrounds the Microfins, creating an outer edge that wraps around the sides of the razor blade head and channels away excess shave prep for optimal razor blade contact.

Have there been any enhancements to the Lubrastrip® vs. Gillette Fusion5?
Yes. It contains more lubricants and a touch of mineral oil.

Will Gillette Fusion5 ProGlide razor blade refills fit any other razors on the market?
Yes, all Fusion5 blades fit all Fusion5 and Fusion5 Power razors.

Gillette try's to win me back

Hey Guy's, loved the chance of trying the new Gillette Proglide. First I got to tell u I shaved for so many years with my Gillette Mach 3 Razor took me a while but I got sick of my blades getting doll after 3 shaves. I was reluctant to jump in the 5 blade parade because of the 25$ and up blade refill. I got myself the Schick hydro 5 and loved it since I realized my blades where lasting months . So I was glad to get the chance to try Gillettes ultimate swivel razor. Loved the shave got to say very close shaving got my face real smooth. And I took the time to try it for two weeks now and the blade is still going strong witch was my big worry. Sadly went to my pharmacies close by today and compared the prices and oh wow at least 10$ more expensive than my Schick hydro packs. And I am not gonna go in the 35$ blade club I am sorry. So good blades great razor but I'll stick with my schick hydro. (This review was collected as part of a promotion.)

I really wanted to like it

Full Disclosure: I was sent the Gillette Fusion Proglide Flexball razor via BzzAgent for free.Until last spring I was a Gillette only shaver. I'd been using them for about ten years, first the Mach 3 and then the Fusion. They were great. I had no complaints about them other than the cost of refills. When I switched to the Fusion Proglide Power it was even better. It was without a doubt the best shaving experience I've ever had. When I was sent the new Flexball I decided that I like it, it gives a great shave. Just as good, if not slightly better, than the Power. And with the added benefit of not needing a battery. If you're looking for a new Gillette Razor this is probably it.There's an issue though. My facial hair is coarse and grows fast and even the Proglide cartridges only last about a week and a half of shaves two if I push it. So when you see the marketing for "one blade every four weeks" the caveat is important. If you have coarse or fast growing hair like mine it's one blade every two weeks. That being said lets talk about the subscription plan. With the new Gillette subscription plan the first thing I realized was that it wasn't through Gillette. After signing up it turned out that it was a portal that redirected me to Amazon where I had to then select again that it was a subscription. That frustration aside lets talk price. For me I go through about eight razors in three months. So by selecting that option that's $4.24 per cartridge or $135.64 per year.If you noticed earlier I mentioned that I *used to be* Gillette only. Well last year I decided I wanted something cheaper. I was looking at safety razors but I thought that 1) I've never used one before and wasn't sure I'd like it and 2) I'm not quite hipster enough :).Instead I thought to try one of the shave clubs. So I looked into them and then after some searching found that the one I was about to go with was actually just repackaging razors sold by a different company. I looked it up and that company also sold razors, just not through a subscription plan. So I ordered through them and the total cost for a years worth of razors, all bought at the same time, wound up being $85 after shipping costs or $1.78 per cartridge. Now the blades aren't as high quality as the Gillette proglide ones, they're more like the regular fusion ones but for some reason through the shave plan the regular fusion blades actually cost more per blade. So, thank you Gillette, you make amazing razors, but I'm going to go with saving money. Gillette Shave Club

The razor and blades that I received are wonderful. It gives a very close, comfortable shave. However, while investigating the club, I find it to be extremely expensive. Living on a pension, I can't afford their prices. Also, I don't like the idea of automatic delivery every month. Great product but I have no use for the club.
